Dear Caregivers,
I’m pleased to announce Kim Hale, DNP, MBA, CNOR, NEA-BC, FACHE, is Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for Providence St. Joseph Hospital.
Since joining our hospital, Kim’s effectiveness and willingness to serve – first as Executive Director of Surgical Services and Cardiovascular Services and most recently as Interim CNO – has confirmed that she is the right person for this position. In her role as interim CNO, Kim quickly impressed key stakeholders and decision makers, most notably our Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team members, nursing leadership team and medical staff leadership.
Kim began her career as a graduate nurse in the operating room at Providence Little Company of Mary in Torrance – the same hospital where she was born. She worked at Mayo Clinic in Arizona and served as the director of surgical and cardiovascular services for a large hospital system in Texas before moving to a position as regional director of 17 outpatient primary care and specialty clinics. Prior to relocating to California, she served as CNO at an ortho/spine surgical hospital that she helped to open.
Kim is passionate about leadership and is dedicated to supporting and developing nurse leaders. She’s committed to:
- Empowering caregivers and ensuring they deliver the highest quality of care.
- Designing structures and processes to support a sustainable culture of excellence.
- Infusing fun and celebration into the care environment.
Some personal information about Kim: She and her husband, Art, have been married for 27 years and have five children ranging in age from 18 to 33, along with a “sweet and spicy” pug named Dodger. Kim says she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and reading – particularly historical fiction.
Please join me in welcoming her to this role.
