Update: Blue Shield health plan issues update

Dear Caregivers,

As I mentioned in a previous email, a few caregivers have reached out to tell us they’ve encountered difficulties when scheduling appointments with providers who are confusing the Providence caregiver Blue Shield Trio plan with the Blue Shield Trio Individual & Family Plan HMO product purchased through Covered California or an insurance broker that will no longer include access to Providence ministries and most physicians.

Providence caregivers continue to have in-network access to Providence doctors, clinics and hospitals. Our teams are working with providers to clear up confusion. If you encounter any issues when scheduling an appointment with a provider, we recommend sharing this letter, which explains the confusion between the two products and how providers can distinguish between the plans.

We understand this situation has been a source of frustration and we appreciate your patience as we work towards a resolution with our providers.
