Major Order Set Update Changes

What is Changing?

A significant Epic Order Set package will be released. The package impacts 366 separate order sets that we use in our acute hospitals. Providers will need to resave their order set default preferences in Epic. Order and order block changes include Diet Orders, Wound Care Orders, weigh patient orders, trach RT related orders, Telemetry Orders & BPA and Multimodal Pain Medication Orders.

Why is it Changing?

All order set changes were coordinated to be released on the same day to isolate the change trauma to the provider community.

How is it Changing?

Present: Order sets with high-impact changes have Yellow Banners notifying providers to update their order set preferences. This will stay visible for 2 weeks after the changes have gone live on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

After: June 18,2024 a pop-up will appear when the user opens the impacted order set for the first time. Please review these changes and customize the preferences again after June 18,2024.
