Reflecting on Election Day: A message from Chief Executive Brian Helleland

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today is Election Day, and it's your chance to make your voice heard. Voting is the heart of our democracy and a powerful tool for change. Many have fought for this right, and by voting, we honor their sacrifices.

Every vote counts and participating in elections helps build a government that reflects the diverse views and needs of all its citizens. So, no matter your beliefs or who you support, voting is your chance to shape the future.

There's always a lot of buzz and strong opinions leading up to an election. In a country that often feels divided, it's crucial that we talk to each other respectfully. Engaging in civil and respectful dialogue helps us understand diverse perspectives and find common ground, even when we have different views. By listening and speaking with kindness, we can bridge divides and work together towards solutions that benefit everyone.

So, let’s honor the importance of this right by showing up and voting. If you haven't already, please make time to go to your polling place or drop off your ballot. No matter who you support, just make sure to vote.
