Leadership Announcement

I’d like to share with you that after 17 years of service, Chief Mission Integration Officer Cathy Fletcher, will be leaving Providence on April 11. For the last five years she has served as an integral member of our executive team as CMIO.

We extend our gratitude to Cathy for her unwavering commitment to our Mission, Values, and the St. Joseph Hospital community. She’s been a driving force in our mission formation and leadership programs serving as a facilitator for formation sessions including Living the Legacy, Mission & Mentoring, and Mission Leadership Academy.

Her creativity and influence are visible throughout our campus from Café Le Puy, and the 90th anniversary mural outside the cafeteria, to the redesign of the hospital chapel and most recently, the Angel “Wings of Compassion” selfie wall.

Beyond her role as CMIO, Cathy’s leadership and vision has helped shape our culture through the coordination of seven Culture of Caring events. Her influence was felt during the pandemic, when she uplifted our spirits with all new Christmas trees and decorations for the entire campus.

More recently Cathy was instrumental in creating a sacred encounter that went viral when she planned the wedding for an oncology patient and his daughter.

In addition to the sacred encounters for patients, Cathy helped to create individual sacred encounters for our caregivers by collaborating with Sr. Kit Gray to host “Dear Neighbor Days” open house on the Sisters’ campus. This gave caregivers an opportunity to have their hands blessed by a Sister of St. Joseph.

Cathy’s presence will be missed, and her impact will continue to be felt. Please join me in wishing her the very best. In the coming weeks, we’ll learn more from Mission Integration about a transition plan regarding the structure and role and our next mission integration leader – we will communicate that with you at that time.
